For nearly everyone the names Cadbury and chocolate are almost one in the same, especially for those who are connoisseurs of the sweet tasting substance. These days one can find Cadbury chocolates in a variety of locations like grocery stores, mall shops, specialty stores, and especially in Easter Baskets. I think you may find the story of Cadbury chocolate and how it came to be and spread all over the globe to be very interesting.
Frye and Sons of Bristol England are credited as being the first in that area to manufacture chocolate as a confection in the mid 1800s. Early into the next century a merger was formed with the company named Cadbury who made the confectionary delight famous. All of the chocolates made by Cadbury today are directly descended from the ones that were first made by Frye and sold to people in Europe before any other.
Cadbury also is responsible for making the very first milk chocolate bars in the late 1800s. Cadbury was the forerunner from which the rest of the chocolate making industry got their inspiration. The reason for this is that the founder of the Cadbury Company, John Cadbury was very stringent on insisting that the chocolate he produced be of only the absolute highest quality possible.
In the world today Cadbury still remains one of the leaders in the industry in the United Kingdom, but over the last century the company has garnered a global fan base that loves their confections. Cadbury chocolates come in a wide range of different products from candies and chocolate bars to dry powder and drinkable chocolate.
During the holidays Cadbury chocolates are extremely popular and have become a part of many a family”s holiday celebration for a number of generations. Who can go without a Cadbury chocolate Easter egg? According to the company these chocolate eggs are Cadbury”s best product as far as sales performance from the start of the New Year through Easter every single year.
Many of the company”s products that are made in the U.K. are never seen in the United States but there is still a wide assortment of their chocolate bars available and they are especially prevalent during holidays when many stores import their gift chocolates.
Now that you have learned a little about the Cadbury Chocolate Company be sure to share the knowledge with friends and family at the next gathering where you are feasting on the scrumptious confection.

So you are going to cater your event. Big or small, it can be overwhelming to find a caterer, estimate the cost, and choose the menu. Sometimes it”s hard to know where to start. Here are some catering ideas to help you in your search.
There are several things to look for when you choose a caterer. Make sure they have proper insurance, and have a business license and an inspection certificate. They should also have a National ”Servsafe” Certification and a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point program. They should also have a plan to keep foods at the appropriate temperature throughout the serving process. Look for a caterer who has a good reputation and can provide references for you to check out.
Planning a menu is another big hurdle of catering. Menu catering ideas should stem from the type of event you are planning. For example, if it is going to be crowd of mostly men or teen aged boys, you should probably plan to go heavy on the meats. If it is a Bar Mitzvah, serving ham or pulled pork would not be well received. Catering ideas for an afternoon tea for ladies would include things like delicate finger sandwiches and dainty desserts. Ask your caterer for catering ideas and they should be able to suggest several sample menus for you to choose from.
It is also important to order the right amount of food. You want to get the most bang for your buck, so plan carefully in this area. Catering ideas for portions is mainly linked to the number of guests that you will have. If you can break it down to the type of guest (ex. men, women, teen boys, and children) you can even more closely estimate the amount of food you will need. Running out of food can be embarrassing, but having a lot of excess is simply a waste of money. So, the more accurately you can pinpoint the number and type of guests you will be serving, the more closely you can estimate your cost.
Catering ideas for appetizers is simple. Make them pretty to look at and easy to eat. Appetizers should always be able to be eaten with one hand. This makes them portable and well, appetizing. If a person needs a knife and fork it is more of a side dish item rather than an appetizer.
Desserts can be as simple or as elaborate as you want them to be. If you are at a loss for dessert catering ideas, cobblers of all kinds are pretty much acceptable at all types of events. Cheesecake is another favorite and is paired nicely with fresh fruits. You could also do a theme like a variety of pies or mousses. It is really up to you and your preferences when it comes to desserts.
Catering ideas are not hard to come by. Be creative and keep your guest list in mind. Even if you are on a tight budget, you can serve great food if you are inventive. Ask your caterer for catering ideas and go with your instincts.

While you may have heard the phrase “green coffee” thrown around at your local cafe, many people are still unaware of what it actually is. No, it isn”t oddly colored java or moldy beans! Essentially, green coffee is coffee that is unroasted. When you purchase brown, glossy beans at the store, these beans have already been roasted and are ready for grinding – however with green coffee, you do all the roasting yourself.
Why choose green coffee? In truth, the choice between green and pre-roasted really depends on personal preference of freshness. Coffee beans begin to lose their freshness immediately after roasting, which causes both the flavor and aroma to slowly diminish until you finally grind the beans and make your morning cup o” joe. While companies certainly strive to ensure the beans have minimal exposure to the air before packaging, there”s never a guarantee that you won”t come home with coffee beans that are just a little bit stale.
Buying green allows coffee connoisseurs to store their green coffee beans until they”re ready to have a cup of coffee – whereupon they will roast the beans, grind them, and make their coffee with the freshest coffee beans you can get! Home roasters aren”t very difficult to find either, and are relatively simple to figure out after only a few uses. The longer the roasting time, the stronger the flavor will be – simple as that!
And yet, it can still be perplexing as to why anyone would go through this hassle just for a fresh cup of coffee now and again. In actuality, green costs less to purchase than beans that are already roasted! This is because labor costs are significantly reduced, since no one is roasting the beans for you. Green beans also last longer than beans that have already been roasted – they”ll last up to several years when stored in a canvas bag between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Essentially, the choice of using green coffee beans comes down to quality vs. convenience. While store-bought beans are certainly less hassle and tend to taste fine, there”s always the risk of getting beans that have been sitting around in the dispenser for quite some time. With green coffee, you”ll have to invest in a home roaster and take some practice runs through before you feel comfortable with it and figure out your preferred coffee strength. It”s quite the dilemma – green coffee lasts longer and costs less, but you”ll have to do some extra work ” though you”ll also have a fresher cup of coffee in the end!

When you think of immune-boosting antioxidants or a diabetes-fighting diet, coffee probably isn”t the first thing that comes to mind. But, coffee is actually the number one source of antioxidants in the American diet and a proven factor in reducing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
According to a 2005 study at the University of Scranton, in Pennsylvania, the average adult drinking 1-2 cups of coffee a day takes in almost 1300 milligrams of coffee-derived antioxidants daily. Antioxidants are believed to help reduce the risk of heart disease, boost the immune system, fight cancer and, according to the National Cancer Institute, work to protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals, though these results have not been confirmed in humans.
Essentially, antioxidants are beneficial essential chemicals that are abundant in foods like grains, berries, tomatoes and many other fruits and vegetables. There are a wide variety of antioxidants that differ from food source to food source, but the antioxidants found in coffee specifically are called polyphenols. Polyphenols are believed to be instrumental in battling oxidative stress, a factor connected to neurodegenerative diseases and some cardiovascular conditions.
In addition to boosting immunity, coffee has been shown to lower the risk of diabetes. In 2004, a study at the Harvard School of Public Health concluded that regular coffee drinking reduced the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease.
Out of 125,000 participants, men who reported drinking more than 6 cups of coffee a day lowered their diabetes risk by almost half, while women showed a risk reduction of close to 30 percent when compared to participants who didn”t drink coffee. Though researches still don”t know exactly why coffee is beneficial, they expect that caffeine”s ability to increase blood sugar and boost energy use may play a part alongside the popular beverage”s antioxidant content. Despite the diabetes benefits, drinking that much coffee per day can have other negative health effects, especially for those who should avoid caffeine.
Despite the health benefits, remember that caffeine is a mildly addictive stimulant, one that can increase the heart rate and raise blood pressure. Natural, or not, too much coffee can over stimulate and cause problems. Like most things, coffee should be enjoyed in moderation. But in moderate quantities, coffee can be very good for you, and a great help to your overall health and well being.

Grilling is a very important step in preparing a Barbeque. You can grill over hot live fire made from real wood or charcoal. Gas flames or briquettes can also be used but they are only substitutes and are less ideal for this case.
There are 2 types of heating; direct and indirect. I recommend indirect heating in cases where you do not need intense heating.
Just to be sure that you get the flavor right, you can add wood chips to the gas grill. It is extremely easy to control the temperature of a gas grill. To be sure that the gas grill lasts during the preparation, fill your propane canister adequately.
Are you still wondering what is the best way to cook pork? I usually put the pork in a gas grill, take a nap or go out and do some shopping and come back within three hours. Just be assured that the pork would be cooked, just the way you wanted it.
I have learn this recipe from the book “Thrill of the Grill”. The co-author, Chef Chris Schlesinger showed an interesting spice rub which has proven very handy to me.
With the recipe producing a lightly smoky piece of meat which retains its flavors, the dry and the mix ingredients of the rub make this dish taste awesome. I also add some sugar, cumin, paprika and chili powder which I admit is not entirely conventional.
Once cooking is done, you can start serving the pork. Please note some instructions while you serve the pork.
Squeeze few drops of lime and Tabasco or add some chutney to the pork shoulder and serve it straight of the grill.
If you do not like it this way, you can also shred the pork in a vinegar-based red sauce.
Needless to say, this Carolina Style Barbeque will just be delicious.
If you wish to make pork steaks that are ridiculously good, refrigerate after cooking. Then slice the pork and put it back on the grill.
– Smoked Pork Barbecue –
~ 1 pork shoulder, about 5 or 6 pounds
~ 1 tablespoon sugar
~ 2 teaspoons black pepper
~ 2 teaspoons cumin
~ 2 teaspoons mild chili powder, like ancho or New Mexico
~ 2 teaspoons paprika
~ 2 teaspoons salt
1. Start gas grill, using burners only on one side to achieve a heat of 250 to 300 degrees.
2.Put a couple of handfuls of wood chips in a tinfoil pan, and set it over working burners.
3.While grill heats, mix together dry ingredients, and rub them all over pork, including under skin as best you can and in any crevices.
4. Put pork on cool side of grill and cover. Check about 15 minutes later to make sure chips are smoking and heat is below 300F.
5. Check every hour or so in case heat escalates too much or chips need replenishing.
6. Pork is done when it reaches an internal temperature of about 190 degrees, about 4 hours later.
7. Meat will be very tender. If you like, raise heat and grill meat to crisp it up a bit.
Serve immediately, or refrigerate overnight, slice and grill (or pan-grill) individual slices.
