There are plenty of ways to use mold like in medicine, food, and drinks. This kind of mold will not harm you, if you are not allergic to it. It can make people better if they are sick with certain illnesses. It is used all the time in hospitals. Penicillin, which is made using mold, helps save lives every year. The mold in penicillin helps with allergies, illness, and it also helps with teeth and gum infections. It helps with pains in the mouth and body, but a lot of people can not take this because it can cause bad reactions to it.
The problems it can cause are swelling, spots, rashes, and in the worst cases, death if they are highly allergic to it. Some people can take a generic brand of penicillin, others can not take it at all and it can take longer for them to get back their health. The mold in penicillin fights off the sickness or illness so the body can regain its strange. It is used all over the world and helps many people with serious illnesses. It can also be used to treat animals as well as humans.
Mold is safe in some foods like cheese. They use mold to make Blue cheese and Gorgonzola. It is safe to eat it on these particular food items. A lot of people ask if it is safe to cut off mold on the surface of food and eat it. That can depend on how deep you cut away from the mold, but usually it is better not to risk it. If mold is on cheeses that are not made using mold, you can cut off a big area around it and you should still be able to eat it with out the worry of it hurting you. You do not want to eat the mold on the food that is not good because that mold is bad for you. Mold that grows on the spoiled foods can make you sick, break out, or swell.
When beer is made, mold is used in it and the mold is not the bad kind of mold. It is the good kind that will not hurt you. All beer is made with mold. It is how it is brewed and it becomes beer. Mold is a big part of making beer and with out it, it might not taste the same. If mold gets on the surface of beer, it might not be good to drink because it is old and it is no good. The mold that grows on the surface of beer can be toxic and dangerous to drink.

So in July of 2008 Walkers decided to give back to the public, the same public that has been buying their crisps for over two decades. They launched a national challenge and that challenge was to allow the public to choose which flavours they would like to taste. After thousands of entries the flavours were whittled down to six and the flavours that have come through to the finals are Chilli and Chocolate, Onion Bhaji, Cajun Squirrel, Fish and Chips, crispy duck and hoi sin, and builder”s breakfast.
The crisps can be bought from supermarkets until May 2009, while the sales are going through the public can cast votes on which flavour should stay on for full time sale. The creator will win fifty thousand pounds, on top of the ten thousand pounds that each finalist has already received. Then if the crisps sell well enough, the creator could pocket themselves around fifty seven thousand pounds a year, as they will get 1% of all profits.
So let us have a look at which flavour could in fact come out triumphs.
1) Chilli and Chocolate – Not really the best tasting bag of crisps, they taste quite hot with a flowery taste right at the end. Not one of my favorites and to be honest the mixture just sounds a bit horrid.
2) Onion Bhaji – The smell of these were good but I just could not get used to the taste.
3) Crispy Duck and hoi sin – Well it was pleasant but just tasted like the chicken flavour
4) Fish and Chips – The only one I have not tasted yet, I would expect this flavour to do well though.
5) Cajun Squirrel – Another flavour that is popular with the public, and I can see this one being pretty successful.
6) Builders Breakfast – Probably the best flavour out of them all, tastes nice and a good name choice.
So which flavour do you like best? The battle of the crisps has started and I think there are two great flavours in that selection (Just a personal opinion, I am sure the nation will have their own). But what is guaranteed is who ever ends up winning will probably be set for life with a huge pay packet, would it not be great to get around sixty thousand pounds a year for creating a new flavour of crisps? I certainly wish that I entered the competition.

If you”ve been wondering how to make raw flax seed crackers or just looking for a good basic easy, healthy raw flax seed cracker recipe then I”ll make it easy for you. As a nurse, amateur chef and raw foodist – vegan I”ve been making raw food recipes for a decade and have made many different types of flax seed cracker recipes. I”m, going to show you the simplest and fastest way to make flax seed crackers.
There are many different types of raw food flax seed cracker recipes but starting with something simple and then adding spices or ingredients can make it much more flavorful.
Flax seed crackers are dehydrated crackers. Usually a dehydrator is needed, although you can try to make them in an oven and keep it under 120 degrees – if it has a fan in back. However that can take quite a few hours and would be a major drain on your electric bill. And I don”t recommend it – it may be too hot and damage the enzymes that dehydrating at a low temperature is supposed to preserve.
Dehydrators use very little energy. If you”re eating raw foods now and don”t have a dehydrator you definitely should get one. I find it an indispensable piece of equipment for raw fooders. It will give you much more in the way to choose from in terms of the number of raw food recipes you can prepare.
I make many different raw recipes in the dehydrator – for example, cookies, other types of raw crackers, raw pizza, raw crepes, mushroom appetizers, appetizers, raw onion bread and much more. Invest in a dehydrator if you can. Get the big square one with the fan in the back, because those are the best and will not heat the food. The 9-tray Excalibur is the one I use.
Okay for the simple, easy, basic raw flax seed cracker recipe see below. However it is bland and I would suggest my follow-up variations for the best and most flavorful crackers.
How To Make Flax Seed Crackers
Ingredients: flax seeds and pure unfiltered water
2 cup flax seeds soaked for 5- 8 hours or overnight – not ground up or you can use 2 cups of flax seeds unsoaked ground in a food processor
2 tsp sun dried sea salt
2 1/2 – 3 cups or more of pure filtered water
Mix together in mixing bowl and add more water if necessary. It should be very moist. Don”t worry – it does not have to be perfect. They always turn out. Spread onto dehydrator trays about 1/4 inch thick.
Use a pizza cutter to cut into squares. Dehydrate at about 95 degrees for 12-24 hours or until they look dried and crispy. About half way through the process, re-score with the pizza cutter and place another tray on top and flip over and continue dehydrating.
Now this is a very basic flax seed cracker recipe. But you”ll want to add spices or additional ingredients to make them flavorful. Otherwise they will be bland.
Optional: 3 teaspoons of Italian seasoning for a more pizza-like cracker or add 3 T caraway seeds for a caraway seed cracker or add 4 dates for a sweeter cracker or add 1 T coriander seeds or add 2 cups of unsoaked sunflower seeds that have been ground up fine in a food processor or any combination of any of these. You can also add 5 stalks of celery or the pulp from juicing carrots instead of some of the water as long as your final mixture is a little moist.
Now you know how to make raw flax seed crackers. Follow these simple directions and make sure to add the variations for the best flax seed crackers. There are many other raw food diet recipes you can make with or without a dehydrator. And even more variations of crackers.

It”s hard to beat the convenience of using dried pasta at home, especially for day to day use, but sometimes you want something special for dinner and making fresh pasta is one way to easily accomplish that. The good news is that it”s very easy to do if you use the pasta attachments on your mixer.
Fresh pasta has several advantages over dried pasta. The main difference is the great taste of fresh pasta. Not only can you distinctly taste the flavor of the pasta but the texture is creamy and smooth and melts in your mouth. The pasta is also less slimy than dried pasta so the sauce sticks to it much better.
Fresh pasta also cooks in about half the time that dried pasta takes. Since you can make fresh pasta ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer it can really help you whip up a quick meal.
With fresh pasta you can also mix up the recipe to create unlimited varieties of pasta. You can experiment with colors: add some shredded spinach for green pasta, a little tomato pasta for red, some squid ink for black. You can also change the flavors: some pesto adds a great basil flavor, some finely ground nuts create a unique flavor. You also only use ingredients that you want. For instance, you can choose to use water instead of egg, whole wheat flour instead of white, organic flour instead of standard. You”re completely in control over what you are putting in your body.
With fresh pasta you also have complete control over the shape of the pasta. You can make spaghetti or linguine, lasagna or gemelli, or any type of noodle you like. You can even involve the kids in the pasta making process.
The best part of using fresh pasta is how easy it is to make using the pasta attachments for your mixer. You first make the dough, let it rest for 30 minutes and then roll out the pasta sheets using the pasta attachments. The actual work time is about 15 minutes, not too bad for a wonderful meal!
As mentioned above, their are limitless possibilities when it comes to your pasta dough but here is a simple and traditional egg-dough pasta recipe.
First take 1 cup of unbleached flour and put it in a bowl then mix in two large eggs. Knead the dough together for about 5 minutes, the dough should be begin to become a little elastic and still be sticky while remaining a little course. After kneading for 5 minutes wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it sit on the counter for 30 minutes. The resting process allows the dough to come together and take on the silky texture that is so wonderful in fresh pasta.
While the dough is resting you can set up your stand mixer and put in your pasta roller attachment. Make sure it is set to the largest setting. You can also start your water on the stove as the 30 minutes runs out, this way the pasta can go right from the cutter into the water.
Once the dough has rested for 30 minutes you want to press it out into the shape of a thin hamburger patty, with the edges about a fourth of an inch thick. Turn the mixer on to low speed and begin to feed the dough into the roller with one hand and help support the sheet coming out the other end. When you are supporting the pasta sheet make sure you are not pulling on it, let the pasta roller do the work and just focus on supporting it.
Once the sheet comes out of the pasta roller fold it in half length wise and feed it through the roller again. Repeat this rolling and folding process for 5 or 6 times. This repeated rolling helps the gluten develop and creates the signature silkiness that fresh pasta is known for.
Next set the pasta roller to the next smaller size and run the sheet through it. Fold the pasta sheet in half again and run through a few more times. You will repeat this process, moving down the pasta roller widths until you reach the thickness you desire for the type of pasta you are making. Most spaghetti-type pastas will be around the middle thickness, while some wider noodles will be thicker.
Once the pasta sheet is the thickness you want you can take off the pasta roller attachment and put on the pasta cutter attachment. Most mixers have attachments to cut spaghetti, angel hair pasta, linguine, and ravioli. You can also cut any shape you like by hand, it takes longer but it can be a lot of fun, especially if you get the family involved.
For our traditional pasta put on the spaghetti cutter. Turn the mixer back on to low and run the pasta sheet through the cutter. Perfect strands of spaghetti should come out the other side. Once all the pasta is cut, simply put it in the boiling, salted water for 3-4 minutes, just until it becomes tender. Take the pasta out and add some sauce to it right away. Either a traditional marinara sauce or even just some olive oil with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Cleaning the attachments is even easier than making the pasta is. Since pasta dough is a very dry dough it does not stick everywhere like other doughs. You just need to brush off the attachments and you are all done. The attachments are also much smaller than traditional pasta rollers so you can easily store them in a drawer until they are needed.

Having a modern baby shower means having a modern baby shower cake. That doesn”t mean it has to be staid or boring. An elegant fruit tart is a great idea, or individual cakes is another option to go for – the individual cakes can have pink or blue icing if you want a subtle hint of the popular baby shower idea. A sheet cake is also a great option, because not only are they terribly easy to decorate, but they”re huge and inexpensive, and can feed lots of people (in case your friends bring their husbands and children along). Whatever baby shower cake you choose, remember not to go to any extreme – making the cake too Disney-like and people will think you”re infantile, but making the cake to nondescript will have your guests question your maternal instincts.

It”s always smart to drive defensibly; it can be the life-saving factor when faced with an intoxicated driver. Many more drivers are intoxicated at night as compared to daytime hours, and even more so on weekends.
Avoid deadly injuries by being on the lookout for any drivers impaired by drugs or alcohol, sleep deprivation, inattentiveness, or any other reason. Whatever the cause of another driver”s impairment, victims are still just as hurt – or dead.
Turning with a wide radius, appearing drunk, weaving or zigzagging on the road, swerving or abruptly turning from a mostly straight course, driving too slowly, stopping inappropriately, erratic braking, inconsistent signaling, straddling the center of the road, almost striking objects or vehicles, driving on anything other than a designated roadway, driving into opposing or crossing traffic, and a slow response to traffic signals are all common signs of drunk driving.
Be ready to take quick, evasive action. Keep your vehicle as far away from the suspect as safely possible. Don”t be afraid to pull over and let the intoxicated driver pass you. If a head-on collision is coming, pull to the right, stop, and honk your horn and flash your lights.
It is your duty to contact law enforcement by dialing 911 or *SP if you”re using a cell phone as quickly as possible. State that you want to report a suspected drunk driver, making sure to give road names and directions to the exact location of the vehicle. Give a complete description of the intoxicated driver”s car including their license plate number, color, make, and model.
You are not trained the same way police officers are. You should never attempt to stop the vehicle, follow the vehicle, disregard traffic signals to keep the vehicle in view, attempt to detain the drunk driver if they do end up stopping, act as the police, fire, or medical persons, or assist any law enforcement officer while they apprehend a drunk driver, unless you are otherwise requested.
The best way to protect yourself and others is to never drive or ride with anyone who has had too much to drink. Try volunteering to be a designated driver, and make sure everyone wears their seat-belts. Do your best to avoid travel after midnight, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
Even driving fatigued can impair you in the same way as an intoxicated driver. Don”t distract yourself while you”re driving with a cell phone, make-up, eating, or reading the morning newspaper.
Impaired driving can be caused by anything; alcohol, prescription drugs, anger, fatigue, distractions, physical disabilities and disorders, and many other things. A person killed by a distracted driver is just as dead as a person killed by an intoxicated driver.
