Raw foods is a popular phrase that can be fairly well misunderstood by the majority of the population. Many people will ignore the idea of eating raw foods, not fully understanding what it means, while others will tend to embrace it, again without really fully grasping the health implications of actually eating these types of foods.
There are certainly a number of different interpretations of what eating raw foods is. However commonly most people would tend to advocate a diet of fresh fruits, leafy greens, other types of vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Certainly, including all of these into your diet, or developing a diet that is primarily based around eating these foods solely, you will be able to benefit from numerous different health benefits.
So what exactly are these main benefits? Well, one of them is certainly that the body is able to absorb nutrients far more efficiently from consuming raw foods that it would by eating foods that have been cooked or processed. You will also be able to digest foods more effectively as they will contain the proper enzymes, and this will help to keep your immune system stronger.
When you eat raw foods you actually eat less as well. This is not necessarily because you actually intend to eat less, but simply down to the fact that this is something that naturally happens. As you will be getting all of the relevant nutrients your body needs from the food that you eat, you will not have the urge to eat as much as you would when eating cooked food. Eating cooked food is something that can often lead to excessive eating due to the lack of nutrients within it.
When you eat raw foods your body will also stabilise itself. This will mean that if you are too thin and you will become stronger and will put on a little bit of weight. If you are too thick and heavy set then you will begin to lose weight but will still remain strong.
You will also begin to have reserves of energy and will generally feel more energised when you consume raw foods as part of your daily diet. Not only will your personal energy resources be boosted, but all of the cells within your body will also be rejuvenated as well. As such, you will feel more energised throughout the day and will therefore be able to accomplish more.
You will also begin to age less quickly when you eat the food that is full of nutrients. Of course, you will still age by the calendar but your overall appearance will remain youthful and therefore not only will you feel energised more often, but you will also appear to be so as well.
In addition to this, your general outlook as you appear to everyone else will also be massively enhanced and increased. You will give off a spiritual, emotional, and physical glow that people will certainly recognise. It is certainly for all of these reasons and that eating raw foods is a fantastic option for anyone.

Cotton Candy, that fluffy, usually pink, stuff that is the charmer of children and the bane of their parents. Despite being the bane of parents, they secretly want to get some too. What exactly is it that they are buying? Obviously it”s made with a lot of sugar, but sugar is not pink, blue, purple, green, or yellow. There must be more to it than just sugar.
Well, yes it is more than just sugar, but not much more than that. In fact the only other ingredient is Flossine. Which I imagine brings you to another question, what is flossine; I know that was the first thing I thought. Flossine is probably what you would expect it to be, food coloring and flavoring. So it all sounds pretty simple, get some sugar, flossine, and a machine and your set. Basically you”re right.
The mixture of flossine to sugar might be a part that gets you into some trouble. The appropriate amount of flossine to sugar is very surprising. You need one to two heaping tablespoons of flossine for every 10 lbs of sugar. To top this off you need to mix this very evenly, so the cotton candy will have a uniform flavor and color. Not to worry though, you can buy a mix, it”s called Cotton Candy Floss.
So now it”s off to the races right? Sure if you have a machine and know how to use it. It really isn”t too hard to do, so long as you actually practice a bit before trying to show off. To use the machine it”s a good idea to know what the machine is doing. The whole process is based on heat and centrifugal force. The sugar mix is heated until it is liquid, and the centrifugal force pushes it out of the floss head (center piece) and through a screen with small holes. These small holes force the liquid into small streams, and the streams turn solid in the cool air becoming cotton candy.
With all that heating, spinning, squeezing, and cooling you don”t want your treat to just fly away. To catch the candy you can adjust the angle that it exits the floss head, shooting more up or down as you desire. Wiping the inside of the bowl with a damp cloth will leave just a hint of moisture on the surface, which the cotton candy will cling to. The same can be done to the cone that you are using to collect the cotton candy.

A cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink. It is prepared with hot milk, espresso, and steamed-milk foam. It”s name came from the Capuchin friars, probably because of the color of their attire, or to their appearance of having a white head with just a ring of brown hair.
Traditionally, a cappuccino is served in a porcelain cup, because it retains more heat than paper or glass. The foam on top insulates the drink and helps keep the liquid hot. Sometimes, the foam has cocoa, nutmeg, or cinnamon sprinkled on top.
A cappucino is similar to a caffe latte because both add frothed milk to espress. There are two main differences. First, a cappucino uses less milk that a latte which supposedly was invented to suit American tastes and is basically a cappucino with more milk. Secondly, the layer of foam may or may not be on lattes. There are some similarities in the usage: a wet cappuccino is basically the same as a short latte that just has more foam.
American coffee chains, such as Starbucks, may serve lattes and cappuccinos at identical sizes, and only distinguishing them by greater foam in the cappuccino.
The cappucino that is served in Europe is made up of about 150 ml of espresso an d180 ml of espresso. Most American chain serve cappucino as a twelve ounce drink, and
The first espresso machines were introduced at the beginning of the 20th century and used to make cappuccino.
The first patent was filed by Luigi Bezzera of Milan in 1901. By the early 1900s, the beverage was used in Italy, as the large espresso machines in cafe”s and restaurants were improved, and they grew in popularity during and after World War II. The introduction of the modern, high-pressure espresso machine helped it grow. The cappuccino had developed into its current form by the 1950s.
Espresso coffee initially gained popularity in the United Kingdom, in the form of the cappuccino, due to the British custom of drinking coffee with milk. Also, the desire for a longer drink so the cafe”s may serve as a destination, and the exotic texture of the beverage also helped the popularity. In Italy the cappuccino is is rarely drunk after 11am. It is seen as a morning drink.
The most important thing in preparing a cappuccino besides a shot of espresso, is the milk texture and temperature. When milk is steamed for a cappuccino, foam is created by introducing very tiny air bubbles into the milk. This gives the milk a velvety texture and sweetness. Cappuccino usually consists of an espresso, on hot foamed milk is poured, the result is a 2cm thick milk foam on top. Various mixtures are normally called cappuccino chiaro (white cappuccino, also known as a wet cappuccino) if they have more milk than normal, and cappuccino scuro (also called dark or dry cappucino)with less milk and more foam than usual.
Getting right ratio of foam requires close attention when steaming the milk, this makes the cappuccino one of the hardest espresso-based beverages to prepare. It is essential to remove all of the water from the nozzle left from previous steaming of the milk it into the milk.
Cappuccino was originally served in Europe, Australia, South Africa, South America and some of North America. Cappuccino was much popular with North Americans by the mid-1990s, when upscale coffee shops sprang up.

Eggs are a good source of protein, and they supply all nine of the essential amino acids for humans. They also provide us vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, choline, iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium.
Eggs also have properties that are good for the eyes, as they may prevent macular degeneration and reduce the risk of developing cataracts. Eggs have also been shown to lower the risk of breast cancer, by 44%, in women who ate six eggs a week.
Hair and nails also benefit from egg consumption due to the high sulphur content and the vitamins and minerals present in the food. People who add a moderate amount of eggs to their diet may find their hair and nails growing faster.
The egg is one of the few foods to contain Vitamin D naturally. Vitamins A and E are also located in the egg yolk. The yolk contains almost half the protein of the egg as well as all the other nutrients. It also contains choline, which helps with brain development and may be beneficial to pregnant and nursing women for fetal brain development.
Egg yolks are very high in cholesterol, but eggs have plenty of benefits to outweigh the cholesterol content. An egg yolk contains about two-thirds of the recommended daily intake of cholesterol. However, a study at the Harvard School of Public Health found no significant link between heart disease and eating eggs. One study even showed that regular egg consumption may help prevent heart attacks, blood clots and stroke.
Another recent study shows that eating two eggs a day does not affect lipid profiles and in some cases may improve it. The study suggests that dietary cholesterol does not raise our cholesterol and that saturated fats should be avoided instead.
The membrane of eggshells has also been found to have surprising health benefits. Natural eggshell membrane, or NEM, is a natural source of glycosaminoglycans, proteins and other properties that help maintain articular cartilage and synovial fluid health and reduce bone and joint pain as well as joint stiffness. NEM can also reduce arthritis joint pain and muscle pain from sports injuries.
NEM is a great alternative for people who are allergic to shellfish (another major source of glucosamine) or do not get enough shellfish in their diet. NEM can be consumed via supplements such as LifeJoint.

How many times have you told yourself that you will eat better? For some reason it does not work out. Maybe the food does not taste good. Perhaps it is not appealing. That will not happen if you switch to raw foods. You can eat a diet that is uncooked and vegan. You may find a great deal of benefits by doing this. Here are just a few.
Preparation
If you eat an uncooked diet, you eat foods like fresh fruits and vegetables. You also eat nuts, seeds, grains, beans, and such. The food is not cooked. It is believed that many enzymes can be destroyed by heating your food. These enzymes assist your body in digesting and absorbing the food that you eat.
All food is living material. This means that it contains life force. Life force is that invisible energy that exists within all living things. When food is cooked it may alter or destroy that life force. This may have an effect on the food that you eat.
Low in fat
Most people get too much fat in their diet. Your new diet will be naturally low in fat. The fats that you receive will be good fats. Good fats are ones that are in nuts, for example. This may have an effect on lowering your bad cholesterol. In the long run, it can mean less chance of heart disease.
Good taste
The taste of fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts, is very appealing. Many people do not stay with a change of diet, due to taste. This will not be the case. Your food will taste good.
Appealing
A lot of our hunger comes from appearance. If food does not look good, we may not want it. Fresh fruits and vegetables have dynamic colors and textures. They are as much fun to look at, as they are to eat.
Sodium
Your new diet will be very low in sodium. The average person takes in considerably more salt than they need. This may lower your blood pressure a great deal. Lower blood pressure is attributed to better heart health. You also feel less bloated, as you are not retaining water.
Weight loss
It will not be difficult to lose weight with this way of eating. Most fruits and vegetables are naturally low in calories. You can eat a great deal more of them, that the high calorie foods. You will feel fuller, also. Fruits and vegetables are more filling than fatty foods and sweets. That means that you will not be hungry. Hunger often makes people binge and eat more than they want. You can eat all of the fresh vegetables and fruits that you want.
Feel better
After a while you will feel better. You will not be taking in preservatives and chemicals. This may make a difference in your health. When you feel better, you feel more like exercising. Exercise is important for good health and weight loss.

Cotton candy actually dates back a lot, by a lot I mean the as far back as the 1400”s. If you were to have some made in the old fashion way you wouldn”t be getting it on a big paper cone, but it would look awfully familiar. Back then it was called spun sugar, and the process of making it was difficult. You would have heating up the sugar and pulling out the individual stands with a fork like utensil, sounds like fun right? To top it off, sugar was very expensive, the method of making it time consuming, so spun sugar was not a very practical treat.
Over time the secrets of spun sugar spread across Europe. Since the trend of having the unpractical has always been something the wealthy have practiced; it also applied to these sugary treats. In the 18th century it was very popular, amongst the wealthy at least, to have spun sugar Easter Eggs. In order to make them even more expensive they would have webs of gold and silver mixed in with the sugar webs, sounds extra yummy now.
This sugary treat was so expensive back then, even without the gold and silver, that a commoner was not likely to ever even taste it let alone have a whole dish of it. This was all going to change in 1897, when one William Morrison and John C. Wharton invented the modern method of making cotton candy. They unveiled their invention twice, the first time at the 1900 Paris Exposition and then at the 1904 St. Louis World Fair. Then called Fairy Floss, and it was sold by the box.
At the World Fair a box of Fairy Floss sold for 25 cents, half the price of admission. Even though the price was high, they sold $17,163.75 or $452,000 in today”s money (see the profit?). Within a year of its unveiling at the World Fair, the cotton candy machine was starting to be sold to candy stores, which were selling cotton candy for only 5-10 cents. Like a car, the cotton candy maker has seen some improvements since it”s unveiling. Just as the car is still a Model T at heart, the cotton candy maker is still that machine that was unveiled at the 1904 World Fair.

Some people tend to dine out a lot, others tend to wait until a special occasion. It doesn”t matter which type of person you are, it is very easy to find plenty of reasons for dining out.
Of course the one time most people are most likely to be dining out is when they are celebrating something. This could be a birthday, a promotion, a graduation, an anniversary, or anything else. You can come up with all sorts of things to celebrate if you need an excuse. There are actually websites that lists holidays for pretty much every day of the year. You can also celebrate the end or the beginning of the week, the fact that you made it through another day of work, or just the fact that you are alive.
Another good reason for dining out is so that you don”t have to cook yourself. This means that you don”t have to come up with an idea for what should be for dinner (or breakfast, or lunch). You don”t have to go shopping for the ingredients, or spend the time preparing whatever menu you happen to have come up with. If you are short on time the fact that you can go out to eat is a real blessing. You don”t have to stress out over getting dinner on the table.
Sometimes you might just want to eat out to limit the complaints about what is put on the table. It is actually pretty common that everyone in the family likes to eat different things. Invariably this means that someone will not be happy with what you put on the table or you will have to make multiple dishes for the meal or prepare the same few meals over and over. You can get a lot more variety while keeping everyone happy if you dine out since then everyone gets to choose their own dishes and they can get whatever they like.
It is also the case that sometimes you just need a treat, or need to be a bit pampered. Eating out can accomplish this, especially if you order a dish that is too difficult or time consuming for you to easily prepare at home, and end the meal with a delicious dessert. Just the fact that you didn”t have to make the meal makes it a special experience, but indulging in special types of food can take this one step further.

As gourmet food is a choice for people with honed and distinguished taste in cooking and cuisine, gourmet eaters should also be discriminating shoppers. Gourmet means having the best of the best. If you”re not quite as good at shopping for gourmet food, here are a few tips that will surely help you out.
Check on the seller”s reputation. When you say gourmet, you mean quality and nothing less. And to make sure that you are getting as such, you need to make sure that the place you are buying from has a good reputation and is known for their products. Find out from your family, acquaintances and friends on which stores are their preference when it comes to gourmet food. They may be able to give you some excellent recommendations. When you go through the list of gourmet shops through the yellow pages or in the pages of the internet, always check on customer feedback and reviews. For online gourmet shops, you can easily find these reviews and comments made by other customers. You can also find some useful information on food forums. Forum members who are gourmet lovers like yourself can give you good tips and advices when it comes to where and which are the best gourmet stores in town.
Find out what you need first before buying. Gourmet food can be quite expensive so you need to plan ahead on what you need before you start shopping. List down everything you need for you to cook your gourmet meal. The different brands of gourmet food available may confuse you and you might find yourself buying more than you need. It”s just like when you do regular groceries, make sure to have with you a list of things that you need. You wouldn”t want to buy gourmet food that you don”t need, it would just end up getting stuck in your refrigerator until you get a chance to use it. Even with that thought, there”s still the off-chance of it going bad. So make your choices and purchase wisely.
Read some label details. As most gourmet recipes need you to be exact and precise in your ingredients and measurements, gourmet shoppers should always read the fine print in the labels of each gourmet food they purchase. The most important detail that they need to make a note of is of course, the expiration date. As luscious and delectable may be the food components of gourmet cuisine, their flavor and tastefulness all go down the drain when their ingredients are already expired and spoiled. Even if an item looks the same and has the same name, there might just be a possibility that it”s different. Always keep in mind that different ingredients have different effects to a certain dish, so be sure that you get everything right.
Always make sure that you are meticulous and picky when you buy your ingredients, just as you would for a gourmet restaurant. After all, gourmet is not gourmet unless it is made up of the most refined ingredients to bring out that most discriminating taste.

“Coffee is the next best thing after water!” That statement may be a coffee lover”s battle cry, but coffee is indeed the most popular beverage next to water. What is it in coffee that has made it an essential part of our daily lives?
Coffee is said to have been discovered in Ethiopia and brought to Arabia by the traders. The Arabs were the first to boil the coffee beans and make it into a drink similar to tea because of its stimulating effect that keeps one awake. This mild stimulant is of course, the caffeine in coffee that gives us that kick when we feel laggard. From Arabia, coffee was introduced in Turkey during the Ottoman Empire and then it reached Italy where the very first coffee house was opened. That would probably explain why the Italians make the best espressos. Today, coffee has become one of the biggest industries worldwide, and Brazil, and the neighboring South American countries are the leading suppliers of the best coffee beans. It was during the early part of the 20th century that decaffeinated coffee was introduced in Europe.
The caffeine content in the coffee is the main component that gives one the jolt, especially at the start of the day, or when one needs to stay up late at night. But coffee is not enjoyed because of its caffeine, but it is the pleasure from the aroma, then to the pleasant intensity of its taste from the first sip down to the last gulp that makes coffee so enticing. But for those who are wary of the caffeine in coffee, decaf coffee beans are the best substitute. As much as 97% of the caffeine is taken out from decaf coffee beans. And although there are several methods of taking the caffeine out from the coffee such as the water-only process, the carbon dioxide process or the solvent process, what matters most is the taste that gives you the most pleasurable feeling. Coffee is not only a sought after beverage, it is also a highly traded commodity next to fuel. That is why it continues to be a highly debated health issue, and there is a barrage of information out there with regard to its fitness value.
Studies have proven that coffee is a good antioxidant that helps protect our cells, especially as we age, from the harmful by-products of our metabolism. Current findings show that coffee may delay the onset or prevent diseases associated with aging such as Alzheimer”s, Parkinson”s, dementia, type 2 diabetes and cirrhosis of the liver. However, a good thing will always have its drawbacks. Coffee as a stimulant may cause increased heart rate and blood levels, and too much of coffee can stain the teeth, may contribute to the weakening of bones such as osteoporosis, and can be addictive as well. There is no fast and quick rule on how little or how much coffee we should drink. It will all depend on how much your body can tolerate coffee without compromising your health. Perhaps one can be guided by the dictum, “Too much of a good thing is bad.”
But for those who can”t have enough of the hot or cold java and is conscious of their wellness or you need to stay awake, but don”t want too much of the caffeine, take decaffeinated coffee from decaf coffee beans. There are several choices out there now, and a cup or two can give you the health benefits that coffee has been proven to possess. Decaffeinated coffee will not give you the same jolt that will keep you awake like the ordinary coffee, but the taste and aroma will let out the feel-good sensation that will certainly keep you alive and kicking.
