Eat Metal for Energy

By Destry Masterson

The body is made of organs that are all constantly working with and for each other. If it weren”t for the synergistic compatibility of these organs then the body would not be able to function properly.

Though, the complexity of body extends much deeper beyond the organs beneath the skin. Each of these organs is going to require nutrients just like you do; in fact, in exactly the same way you do because they compose you.

Among these nutrients the body needs oxygen and water. Water is easily transferred throughout the body being carried by vacuoles in the cells, but oxygen is a little trickier to get a hold of.

To transfer oxygen throughout the body you need to have a little substance called hemoglobin. It sounds like the goblin cousin of Bilbo Baggins, but it is actually the oxygen carrying pigment in the red blood cells.

Hemoglobin is made of metal, iron to be more specific. But, the body doesn”t just take iron and bend it into hemoglobin.

It actually has to go through something very similar to a smelting process. You need to have copper and iron boiled down and stirred together then passed through to the blood, so that the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus can fashion the hemoglobin in the red blood cells.

Sounds like something from skyrim, but it is actually completely real and skyrim is just a videogame that provides no real sustenance, but is still fun nonetheless. The cells in the body are each like small communities, and you are like a gigantic universe that houses anywhere from 50 trillion to 100 trillion little communities (communities is a euphemism for cells.)

Oxygen is a necessary component in energy, without it you wouldn”t even be able to use your muscles. Many people deter their muscular development because they do not have the proper cardio strength to feed their muscles oxygen during their exercise.

Along with cardio strength you also need to have the proper nutrients to feed the cells and provide the ability to use the oxygen correctly. If there is a deficiency of either copper or iron in the body then you will be prone to acquiring anemia.

In laymen”s terms that means you are going to feel lazy all the time. That is not actually the dictionary definition but the consequence and side effects of having anemia.

Protect yourself from pointless lethargy and also thin blood (which is another side effect of anemia), and start eating metals, not like pennies or anything, everyone knows those don”t provide an ounce of nutritional value, in fact with this inflation it is questionable whether they have any value at all. Buzzing!

Times When A Food Assistance Program Are Needed

By Phoenix Delray

The facilities that take donations for food assistance programs today have avenues for people to contribute in many different ways. One of the easiest is to donate cash. This type of donation can most of the time do the most good because in times of need many people not only need food and shelter but also need money to have a sense of worth and to not be considered desolate. They also need to pay their utility bills as well. If one of these donation options is something that you can do then it is best for you to either log onto the Internet to find out how to go about the process or to head out to your nearest food assistance program facility and talk to a volunteer that can help.

There are many people out there that can volunteer their time at some of these facilities to either distribute food or help with cooking meals, and they even can take care of the elderly that come to the donation facility often. Hardships do not fall on just the old or people who have lost their jobs in general. Many of these hardships come in the form of senior citizens who have depleted their savings throughout the years trying to keep their homes intact and their lives together. There are also some people who welcome others into their homes to spend time with them and maybe help with some light housework or yard work.

If you need to find a charity or non profit organization because you need help, they will always treat you with the utmost respect and dignity. It is important for you to remember that no one has gone through life completely without ever getting any help. Everyone needs some kind of help at some point in their life and especially if economic times have job loss involved. If no one needed help, none of us would have the need to volunteer their services or donate to food assistance programs.
If you look statistically at some of the areas of large cities you will see that as many as 200,000 people every day go hungry in some way whether it be to only have one meal a day or no meals at all. Many of these people need the help of a food assistance program and will sometimes have too much pride to ask, or there are other extenuating circumstances stop them from taking this help.

Now if you want to be informed about some of the different food assistance programs that many facilities have to offer, then a quick search on the Internet will display hundreds of web sites that will help in this process.

Diverse Cultures Where Food Donations Are Needed

By Phoenix Delray

Hundreds of miles of city between a desert and the ocean are full of people from many diverse cultures where food donations are needed. With all of those differences, are there any similarities? Is there anything that people in such a diverse area can agree on, can come together for?

No matter where youre from, where your money comes from, what you believe, how much you make, or who you voted for you are one of the millions of people in the country who can donate to or benefit from a charity. Charities where food donations are taken are non profit groups that help raise money, acquire goods, services, and provide those things to people who need them. So what can people do to help their local charities? Why not give donations of money, food, clothing or time to them?

Many different types of food donations are used every day to benefit people in all 50 states who are in need of food, counseling, job placement assistance, clothing, housing and even money to help pay their monthly bills. Donations dont need to be hundreds of dollars, designer clothes, or job offers, but anything you can give that can be used for the betterment of others and their circumstances is welcome in any charity.
Any good quality items that you want to give can be dropped off at a local donation site, sent through the mail, given online through a donation website, or given directly to those in need without the middle man of the charity. Giving is always encouraged, and you dont have to go to a donation center or website to see a need and fulfill that need.

If your neighbors house was foreclosed on, you could offer them money that would allow them to stay in a rental or hotel long enough to find permanent housing. If a fire gutted the church down the street you could offer to help clean up, provide food for workers, provide a place for church members to meet, or provide money to help them rebuild. Donations dont need to come from formal non profits; they can come straight from your heart to those in need without the waiting period associated with donating money to charities.

Giving from the heart is a great way to supply the needs of fellow people, and donating to charities can help the charities grow from their humble beginnings into organizations that meet the needs of people worldwide. Visit one of the many food donation sites to find out how you can be a part of a local donations drive in your community.

Drinking Alcohol And Diabetes

By Bobby Castro

Being the time of celebration, diabetics often are placed in situations wherein they would need to take a sip of alcohol. Before taking the gulp though, it is best that one understands how alcohol affects the diabetic and the management of their condition. The following are some of the matters involved in diabetics ingesting alcohol:

1. Alcohol is processed similarly to the way fat is used up in the body. Alcohol also provides the same amount of calories, which would cause blood sugar levels to rise. Having a calorie controlled meal and small amounts of alcohol can only help to manage diabetes.

2. Large amounts of alcohol can actually decrease one”s blood sugar levels. In diabetics, having too low blood sugar levels can lead to hypoglycemia and may lead to serious injuries or even death.

3. Alcohol interferes with the effects of oral diabetes medication or insulin, increasing triglyceride levels and high blood pressure. This can cause both short term and long term issues with the diabetic.

While alcohol is not prohibited from the diabetic, there are some guidelines on safe consumption.

1. Do not ingest more than two drinks per day of any kind of alcohol;

2. Drink only with food available;

3. Drink slowly with frequent bites of food and drinks of water;

4. Avoid mixed drinks high with sugar, sweet wines or other cordial drinks from fruits;

5. Mix pure liquor with water, ice or diet soda.

These simple tips when drinking would help prevent medical issues from occurring when a diabetic ingests alcohol. Long-term damage includes nerve damage to arms or legs, diabetic eye disease, high blood pressure levels and high triglyceride levels.

The most immediate danger is hypoglycemia, or the condition where the blood sugar levels become too low. This is very true for diabetics who take insulin shots or diabetes pills as the alcohol blocks the liver”s ability to create glucose. Since alcohol is treated as a toxin by the liver, this organ works only in removing the alcohol and nothing else, including production of glucose from stored carbohydrates. When this occurs, sudden drops of blood glucose levels can result in the condition characterized by wooziness, loss of consciousness or even heart attacks.

As can be seen, the diabetic only under certain conditions and realities can ingest alcohol. Because it is the time of celebration, having a drink or two would not hurt so long as one is properly hydrated and on a full stomach with a properly watered down drink to welcome the holidays.

Office Coffee Raises The Morale

By Adriana Noton

Many workers arrive at the office with a take-out cup of coffee and then wait eagerly for the agreeable aroma signaling time for a break and another opportunity to imbibe their favorite drink. Some people enjoy a cup of tea or a cold beverage to quench their thirst. For others, the cup of office coffee provides a feeling of well being and enjoyment and energizes them for the rest of the day.

A favorite topic of discussion and gentle rivalry around the water cooler is the influence of coffee on its devotees. Those who indulge are armed with every possible argument proofing the positive impact of their brew of choice. Not to be outdone, those who abstain have lined up their own theories.

More levelheaded analyses have looked to the product itself. Where the bean is grown and how it is brewed appears to have a significant impact on the quality and the goodness of the product. Correct roasting of the beans is absolutely key to a good brew. If the flavor is too bitter or has a tang of burnt beans, no one will drink it.

Although people talk about the beverage in a very general way, there are as many types of beans as there are types of grape. Just as particular grapes grow in specific areas and the flavor will be different if grown on the north side of a hill inside of the south side, so beans differ according to where they have been grown. Considering that this is a significant agricultural product in 80 different countries across three continents, across many latitudes and at many altitudes, it is not surprising that there is such a difference dependent on origin.

It is not surprising that, like a good wine, many people can predict quality according to the origin of growth. For some aficionados, a single blend from a single region produces the best results. Others believe that the flavor and aroma can be vastly improved by blending beans grown in different climates. Because these are subjective judgments, the only criteria for success can really be sales, although this is dependent on marketing and other factors.

Despite the fact that weather and other seasonal issues have a significant impact on a crop, the master roaster is the one who can make or break a crop. In the past, he used to roast a small batch of beans at a time. Technology allows him to monitor the roasting process and therefore roast larger quantities at a time. Nevertheless, his work is central to the success of a crop.

Having selected the beans, all attention is focused on roasting. Like a pot of milk on the stove, too much heat will cause the milk to boil over and leave your kitchen smelling of burnt milk, while too little heat will leave the milk cold. When an entire batch of beans has been over roasted, the smell and flavor of burning beans adheres to the end product. Under-roasted beans are simply too green and too bland to have flavor.

Such is the dependency of a farmer and his workers on the skills of his master roaster, that his engagement with the crop can mean success or failure to the farmer. It can mean that the planters and pickers enjoy good rewards or that they work for a pittance. In those countries, where this product is the highest earner of foreign currency, he has a special responsibility.

It would be really great if all bosses provided their workers with the very best cup of office coffee that you can. They, in turn, will appreciate the flavour and aroma and you will see the inspiration in their work. Do not forget that there are farmers, planters, pickers and roasters who really hope you enjoy their beverage as much as they enjoy the rewards of your purchase

Holism and the Diet It Entails

By Destry Masterson

Now when you look at any philosophy you have to look at how it is going to affect your life realistically. Many philosophies may seem completely different from one another, but they still can be integrated into one”s own knowledge without any conflict or any contradiction.

Many people view holism to be semi-mystical and figure it to be for fanatics. This is a gross misconception, there are actually scientific facts demonstrating how holism is beneficial to one”s self.

There is nothing mystical about the body or the mind, so the concern comes from the spirit which in this case is reflected by one”s own emotional state of being. The body reflects how physically fit or healthy you are, the mind reflects your cognitive ability, and the spirit is your emotions.

Many people will diet purely for the physical outcome of it; these people can take it too far, thus resulting in eating disorders like anorexia, where you do not get nearly enough to eat. Then there are those who forget the body completely and only eat for the emotional pleasure provided.

These people can end up grossly indulging themselves, thus resulting in eating purely for pleasure with no concern what it does to the body. What has to be done is cognitive integration of body and emotion for eating.

Not an even split of too much or too little, but an understanding of how these foods are going to affect you in the long run. This doesn”t mean you can”t ever eat anything that is going to be considered fattening or low in nutrients.

But for the most part you should try to eat for nutritional purposes that will promote your body, having a healthy body will in turn create a healthy mood. The key is to connect the two through the capacity of the mind.

Imagine the body and spirit as two sides to a triangle, without the base of cognitive thought to support the sides the two sides would fall flat. Use your head, do not forget the capacity of man”s mind, this is the one thing that nature has given to you that hasn”t been provided to anything else.

If there were a missing link to be found from the Neanderthal and the modern man it would be those who do not use their mind. It would be those who only think with their body or their emotion.

Holism is using cognitive thought to create the state of mind, resulting in state of body and emotional wellbeing. Good luck, eat right, and use your head.

Eat For Fuel Not For Fun

By Destry Masterson

Society is changing daily, it seems more and more every day common man is taken a little further from nature. In many ways there is virtue in the development of man, but as a race people must stay grounded otherwise they will fall.

Now this probably all sounds very ominous and like it is blown out of proportion. Sure you can eat whatever you want, and most likely you will probably live to be fifty years old and only be sort of overweight and not completely obese.

But eating healthy foods does much more than add 30 plus years to your life and make you look like a sexy step brother of Brad Pit, it actually works within you to promote many different chemical reactions that produce a variety of diverse benefits. From the development of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-that stuff that makes you have energy-to the production of endorphins in the brain-the chemicals responsible for making you feel good.

Specifically foods like jalapenos are going to provide an increase in serotonin at such a large level it should almost be considered illegal. Though, they are not illegal and so you can still eat them guilt free and, in fact, happily.

When eating foods that increase serotonin you will be, scientifically proven, happy. It is not up for dispute it simply is a fact, jalapenos make people happy.

Despite the wicked burning sensation in the mouth and the over stimulation of the tear glands, you can bet your bottom dollar that you are totally happy. Though, chemically altering your mood through food is not always going to be good.

When you turn to the dark empty void that is nutrition-less meals you can actually be getting what are called excito-toxins from your foods. MSG (mono sodium glutamate) is one of the most popular excito-toxins in society today, coming in almost every fast food meal it is practically unavoidable.

This chemical, MSG, actually has been shown to cause brain atrophy in small rodents, so why does the FDA (food and drug association) allow these to be added to practically every single marketable produce? That is a question you have to ask the FDA.

When you start eating for fuel rather than for fun you will find true joy in your life. When you are purposefully set to a specific path you will find galvanic pressure within yourself growing from day to day, this is the joy that comes with healthy diets.

However, when you are blindly led by carnal indulgence your happiness is only as temporary as your super-fudge caramel coated turnover. So, it is up to you, decide whether you are going to eat for pleasure or for purpose.

Wine Storage And Aging – What Are The Factors To Consider?

By Harry Price

Although many consumers buy wines and consume them within the next 24 hours or so, there are those who purchase wines for long-term storage purposes. Proper wine storage is an essential element in the process of long-term wine aging and it involves certain conditions which will help improve the quality and taste of wines.

There are four vital factors to consider in wine aging and these are temperature, humidity, light and vibration. Whether your wines are stored at a specialty wine storage facility or at your home-based wine cellar, these factors have to be carefully considered because of their pronounced effects on wine.

Wines are sensitive to temperature changes so it is important to control the storage temperature during aging. Ideal wine storage temperature is between 55 degrees to 57 degrees Fahrenheit.

If the temperature inside a wine room is too low, this may cause the wine to freeze and expand and force the cork out, allowing oxygen to enter the bottle and cause oxidative changes on wine. If the storage temperature is too high, it may cause the wine to develop an “off” taste which others define as “cooked.”

Temperature fluctuations also affect wine aging. Exposure of wines to varying temperature ranges, such as when they are frequently transferred from a warm environment to a cool refrigerator or wine cellar and vise versa, can cause undesirable chemical reactions.

Humidity is another factor to consider. Most experts in wine say that the ideal relative humidity or amount of moisture in the air is 55% to 65%. This humidity level helps preserve moisture in corks and prevents them from drying out over time.

Why is it necessary to preserve moisture in corks? It”s because we don”t want to allow oxygen to seep through dried corks and cause harmful oxidation in wines. This is one of the reasons why experts would not recommend refrigerators for wine storage as they usually involve dehumidifying processes.

But too high humidity levels is also not good since it can potentially damage wine labels, making them unreadable and your wine not ideal for a possible resale.

Light should also be taken into consideration even though different wines have different sensitivity levels to it. White wines are more susceptible to light compared to red wines and this is the reason why most white wines are sold in tinted wine bottles.

When wine is exposed to a direct light such as that from sunlight or light bulbs, some chemical compounds in wine are altered and consequently change the wine”s feel, color and taste. Thus it is crucial to avoid exposure of wines to a direct light source.

Lastly, vibration also has a harsh effect on wine. Although there is not enough data to directly associate vibration with specific harmful effects that occur in wines, it is believed to cause a significant disturbance or hasten the aging process, which should ideally occur in a gradual manner.

Most experts in wine storage would recommend a climate controlled wine room where a wine cellar cooling system is installed to make sure that ideal temperature and humidity levels are maintained and that vibration and lighting are easily controlled. There are a lot of trusted wine cellar designers and wine cooling systems manufacturers who can help you plan for your long-term wine storage.

Hydration and Holistic Health

By Destry Masterson

Deep inside the confines of your body there are cells that are constantly at working pumping adenosine triphosphate and creating energy in electrical pulses to travel across the nervous system. Basically, that is how energy works at a cellular level.

You could break it down to an atomic level, but that is just excessive and pointless in the matter of holistic health. That would probably border line philosophical existentialism if you were to examine different impacts of atomic particles.

Many people say that there are two forces in this life, characterized by yin and yang, light and dark, good and bad. Not everything that you eat or consume though is going to be either one hundred percent good or one hundred percent bad.

There is nutrition in everything just in varying degrees. Take for example pine cone compared to an apple.

You could eat a pine cone, but you couldn”t live off of them. Because the nutritional value of the pine cone is so low that it cannot support the cellular process of activities.

Apples on the other hand are going to provide many nutrients, like anti-oxidants and dietary fiber. Fiber is going to fill your tummy with a sustain feeling, while anti-oxidants are going to protect the inside of your body from inflammation (colds, cancer, ext.)

Even with all the nutrients in the world you still need the key ingredient to trigger the chemical reactions necessary for utilizing such nutrients. That key ingredient is water.

Many times people who are fatigued are simply just dehydrated. A simple way to test yourself for healthy hydration is to take your finger and place it inside your mouth or you can just try to determine whether or not your mouth is dry without your finger.

Though, you may be dehydrated even if your mouth isn”t dry. Water is essential for the production of ATP in the body.

ATP is the energy chemical that shoots through the nervous system and causes you to move and react. This is going to be absolutely necessary if you do not want to spend all day every day sleeping.

So start setting aside a healthy eight cups of water every day for personal consumption. This is not only going to create a load more energy, but it is also going to help with your beauty.

Water is the number one dissolvent on the whole entire planet earth. That means when you drink it, it is going to take all that garbage in your body and dissolve it down to nothing.

Not into nothing really, but it will pass it through the liver and then to the urinary tract will it will be disposed of properly.
