To learn how to make sushi rolls like a California roll you will need all your sushi tools (bamboo mat, serrated/bento knife, rice cooker or pot, cookie/baking sheet to cool the rice, small saute pan. You will need your rice, prepared as stated on the packaging, a half avocado, peeled, seeded, and cut into long sections, a half cucumber peeled and cut into long thin strips, a table of toasted sesame seeds and four sheets of nori.
After all the ingredients are prepared you should place the rice on top of each sheet of nori. Now you”re really learning how to make sushi. Now place on top the remaining ingredients in whatever fashion you see fit and roll away! Now you cut to the desired size and your ready for California rolls.
